Although there has been a significant increase in the registration of new ultra-low emission vehicles a report out today from the Department for Transport, assessing public attitudes towards electric vehicles, highlights that price and recharging are a major factor deterring uptake.
Only 5% are thinking about buying but still not decided when.
16% had thought about buying but decided against
55% hadn’t really thought about it at all
This report is highlighting the considerable amount of work that needs to be done to change attitudes to the point of a positive buying decision.
At the moment the risk factors associated with buying a ULEV may just be too much.
