Figures out today from SMMT show that September is the sixth consecutive month in the decline of new car sales.
Importantly this is the first time in six years that September’s sales have fallen.
The good news is that the sales of alternatively fuelled vehicles (AFV) continues to grow, up 41% on the same period last year now accounting for 5.3% of market share, bucking the downward trend.
Consumer confidence is growing, with the uptake of plug-in hybrids leading the way in AFV’s as recorded in August’s figures.
